When you create a new project make sure your resolution is set to 72 pixels per square inch.
This happens sometimes when you open a raw JPG or GIF file and try to edit it. Just copy the picture and paste it into a new project.

This is most likely becuase you are trying to edit a text layer. Go to the layers pallet, right click on the text layer, then select Rasterize Layer
Find whatever you want to make a brush out, select it with the Marquee Tool. Go to Edit > Define Brush
On they keyboard, by F12, there is a button called Prt Scr. You want to hit that, open a new photoshop project then paste.
Download the font, unzip it or whatever you need to do. Drag the file into C:\Windows\Fonts. Open up Photoshop, and it will be there. If you have Win ME, concider yourself fucked.
That would be like me asking you "how to work Microsoft". Adobe is just the company that produces Photoshop, they also have many other programs, so call them by their names. And go take some tutorials.
